What to Do If Your Roof Is Leaking
The best thing to do when you’re faced with a leaky roof is to get in touch with an emergency roof repair service (more on that in a moment.) But, while you’re making the call and waiting for them to arrive, there are a few things you can do. First, protect your personal property. Grab plastic trash bags and cover all the furniture and objects you can’t move. Get as much as you can out of the path of the leak. Don’t attempt to unplug or move any electronics. Next, contain as much of the water as is possible. Your ability to do this will depend on the size and scope of the leak, so just do what you can. Put a bucket or tray under the leak. If the water seems to be splashing out of the bucket or container, use a shirt to stop it from splashing out.
